National Health Week
May 7-11 was National Health Week this year. Zambia has introduced National Health Week to promote good health and wellbeing. The event was graced by His Excellency The President Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia.
His Excellency the President, Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, participated in athletics OYDC, to promote physical activity, healthy diet and regular medical check up among the general populace. The First Lady, Madam Esther Lungu, also participated in athletics to promote the culture of exercise and physical activity to prevent NCDs.
The President and First Lady visited a number of exhibitions, including the National Malaria Elimination Centre's exhibit. For more, see reporting in the Lusaka Times.
